The Challenge:
Since its launch back in 2010, yourcounciljobs (YCJ) was the number one job board destination to find a public sector role in the North West. But with a date for decommission scheduled for December 2017, a replacement was needed.
greater.jobs was designed, from the very beginning, to be much more than just a jobs board. With the knowledge that many of our potential candidates would also be local residents, we created a careers portal that also offered real insight into AGMA’s regions and organisations. The site has been developed to be content rich, multimedia focused and interactive, to showcase the range of opportunities, careers and unique challenges involved in working in the public section.
The Solution:
The design of the site is more than a job board; based on a grid structure it allows for jobs, blogs, stories or social media feeds. New content is uploaded on a daily basis, so the homepage always changes, keeping the information fresh.
We also simplified the user journey, introducing a search function and career explorer that allowed all content to be personalised to the candidates interests. The site accepts feeds from four different ATS to provide job information, a technical challenge in itself! Having adopted a mobile first approach to the website, it’s also building a social media presence through Twitter and Facebook.
